terharu~
"Whose child is this?" I asked one day
Seeing a little one out at play
"Mine", said the parent with a tender smile
"Mine to keep a little while
To bathe his hands and comb his hair
To tell him what he is to wear
To prepare him that he may always be good
And each day do the things he should"
"Whose child is this?" I asked again
As the door opened and someone came in
"Mine", said the teacher with the same tender smile
"Mine, to keep just for a little while
To teach him how to be gentle and kind
To train and direct his dear little mind
To help him live by every rule
And get the best he can from school"
"Whose child is this?" I ask once more
Just as the little one entered the door
"Ours" said the parent and the teacher as they smiled
And each took the hand of the little child
"Ours to love and train together
Ours this blessed task forever."

my cheek was almost running with tears
I dreamed I stood in a studio
And watched two sculptors there,
The clay they used was a young child's mind
And they fashioned it with care.
One was a teacher:
the tools she used were books and music and art;
One was a parent
With a guiding hand and gentle loving heart.
And when at last their work was done,
They were proud of what they had wrought.
For the things they had worked into the child

have you ever played games on fb? i'm sure that we are very familiar with the game mafia wars....in the game you have the energy stat on top where u'll need it to do jobs. (well, i'm a player to...hehe) btw, that the the analogy that i can used to describe my energy for the past few weeks. however, my energy is almost dried when it comes to weekend and even though i have energy packs likes livita honey or rm1 drinks at seksyen 19, the enrgy won't go higher. now i understand how a teacher's life be even though i am only just doing my training...:P
teaching afternoon session if kinda tiring as you came home late after school even though you can stay up late till morning and you'll have enough time to sleep. but i felt kinda tired when it comes to weekend because that's the time when you want to hang out some where and enjoy the night out. but weekend seems short to me as always bcoz i feel like it's been a long time i could enjoy the goodness of pampering myself watching tv on saturday noon till evening. huhu. saturday now become SAD-turday. it's been three times i had to go to school on saturday and it's kinda getting to my nerves now.
however, i did not want to take this as a burden but i put it as a responsibility like late uncle ben said to peter "with great power, comes great responsibility" yes, being a teacher you have "power" in society. from where i came from, being entitled as a TEACHER means u'll get the respect from other people in the society. even though as a trainee teacher, i am doing my work for free, i feel very honored as every day i go to school as like i'm going to do my charity work for daily basis.
can you immagine i am only a trainee teacher but i already have all this kind of feeling. how about the full time teacher who had about 30 period of teaching time in a week + multilple kind of meeting + "unpaid overtime" at the school managing all the task even during weekend. now i understand why teachers when you see them in the "bilik guru" they will always do something at their table with penuh kusyu' dan tawadu'.
I also want to dedicate this post to all hardworking teacher all around the world for being a noble person as you allegedly should be. Stakat gaji yang x seberapa itu tidak akan dapt dibandingkan dengan sumbangan keringat yang anda semua telah curahkan dengan penuh kasih sayang.
-THANK YOU TEACHERS! YOU ARE INDEED OUR MIRACLE WORKERS!-
